Digital marketing is referred to any online-based marketing (via Internet connected devices) that is used to promote products and services. It includes every marketing effort that is implemented through the use of digital technologies, including the Internet and digital advances. Many companies have adopted this marketing channel to market their products and services and to reach more diverse customers in an easy and faster manner which would be time-consuming in the analogue age. Among these companies is Ne’mah café who also incorporated this digital marketing into their business strategy as an effort to promote their cuisines as well as attracting their current and potential customers to purchase their foods and to use the services that they offer. There are various digital marketing tools available for sellers to use such as online marketing, social media marketing and mobile marketing. 

Online Marketing

Online marketing are marketing tools that are implemented via the Internet such as Websites, blogs, email marketing, online advertisement and online videos. Ne’mah café has also taken the opportunities to market their cuisines and build relationship with their customers by constructing their own company’s websites, namely Ne’mah caffe (http://nemahcaffe.blogspot.com/). The website has been on the Internet for 3 years now since it is first launched in 2015 alongside the grand opening of the café in International Islamic University Malaysia. It provides all the general information that customers can refer to such as the history of the company, the products and services that it offers and contact information if there is any inquiries and problems needed to be solved with the company itself.

Email Marketing

Ne’mah café also uses email marketing to deliver exclusive messages and offer promotions, especially to customers who subscribe to their membership program. These messages are only sent to customers who are in their membership program where they will receive new information about the café such as changes in menu and launch of new café location as well as exclusive promotion and discount voucher.

Mobile Marketing

As for mobile marketing, the only digital tool in the form of mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets that Ne’mah café used is the mobile version of their website. There is no further plan in designing an exclusive mobile application to market their products and services due to the high cost of actually hiring a software designer for the purpose.
